An Atlanta native, Daniel Byrd (b. 1994) is a bachelor of fine arts graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
"For me, creating work is the greatest way to celebrate and commemorate what it means to be human, to be "us." Call it what you will--innovation, progression, evolution--this odd human trait of making something in order to see what lies beyond it and proceeding to the next one and the next drives my creative work. In my paintings I discovered a "woven" image or 'mark' in my search to create something that I see as efficient and visually innovative but, most of all, infinite in possibility. This technique reflects my desire to constantly evolve, to push in new directions the nonverbal language of mark making, which has obsessed me since my childhood." An Atlanta native, Daniel Byrd (b. 1994) is a bachelor of fine arts graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Byrd has been strongly influenced by the constant energy of the city for as long as he can remember. Translating this energy onto two- dimensional surfaces, he creates a space where a variety of marks communicate and compete with one another for visual dominance. Byrd's work is already in a number of private collections, and he has executed a number of commissions, including Prequel Restaurant, Washington, DC; The Shops of Buckhead, Atlanta; SCAD, Hong Kong; SCAD, Atlanta; and Del Frisco's Double Eagle, Steakhouse, Atlanta. His work was shown at Untitled art fair during Art Basel Miami in 2019, and he has recently exhibited in galleries in New York City, and Los Angeles, CA.

Living and working out of Atlanta, Ga. Daniel Byrd (b.1994) is a bachelor of fine arts graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design. In his work he tethers the conversation between the formalities of art with a modular ideology. By incorporating this kind of thought process he delineates the relationship between artist and results, highlighting the act of contradiction and affirmation. When integrating the formal choices he can tear and reupholster the surface with modular components, each a microcosm of densely layered color and repetitive form. Through creating something that has no theoretical stopping point, a patterned void is presented causing a rift for the audience to view in either the halted or continuous. Byrd has exhibited across the U.S. and is included in a number of private collections.
