Palm Springs 2/17-2/19
Anyone going to be in PSP over Presidents Day weekend? Any recommendations for lodging (all male) /restaurants/happy hours would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Palm Springs My Way
I highly recommend Vista Grande with its lush landscaping and expansive view of the surrounding mountains. Also, the tropical garden and steam room make for more adventures than an episode of Survivor! :D
I haven't stayed at Inndulge (a Warm Sands resort, like Vista Grande) but it gets awfully good reviews from Flyertalkers and elsewhere. I will probably stay at Inndulge for my next trip to Palm Springs. If you are looking for a p*rno star sort of experience, you may wish to try All Worlds Resort, which has served as a location set for All Worlds Adult films. However, All Worlds Resort is rather stark, with a lot of concrete.
The good thing about staying at Warm Sands all-male resorts is that the surrounding ones are within walking distance and have day passes that allow you to sample what each has to offer. Also, Warm Sands is a short driving distance (and even walkable) to the main strip in Palm Springs. A very nice IHOP and Duane Reade with a full selection of alcohol are nearby.
Enjoy!

Note InnDulge had several employees arrested for dealing crystal recently. Hopefully the tweaker crowd has moved elsewhere.
EDIT
Sorry, the above was posted from memory of reading an article in the Desert Sun a few months ago. It was Inn Exile (as stated by other posters below). The article quoted the owner of Inndulge in the article describing the arrest and I confused the two properties.

Thanks RBCal!
In a way, that's fascinating. Of course, employees of a gay resort would be tempted to deal.
I may reconsider going to Inndulge. I am not outraged about the drug dealing but I do think it's rather unprofessional. It's hard for me to see how the management could not have known about it.
I think I will go with the wholesome choice of All Worlds Resort! :p
Get the sling ready! :D

Are you sure it was the Inndulge and not InnExile? We stay at the Inndulge every time we go to PS and I have NEVER noticed any drug activity. Do you have more details? I definitely would NOT classify the Inndulge employees or patrons as tweakers.....but then again you never know.

Good Point
ChristianJ makes a good point.
You would think Innexile would be the likely place where some dealing was going on. I remember staying there and was woken up in the middle of the night by someone knocking on my door. When I opened the door, a good looking man who spoke practically no English asked me if he could come in. I am sure he was a hustler and I really didn't feel like taking any chances.
As I recall, one of Innexile's staff did seem rather drugged out.
At any rate, Inndulge could have had some dealing going on. As ChristianJ said: you never know.

I am sure that it was InnExile.
I stayed at InnExile a couple of weeks ago and it was definitly cleaned up, drug-wise.

You are right, it was Inn Exile. The owner of Inndulge is quoted as saying
An employee of Inn Exile, an award-winning hotel in Palm Springs, was arrested Wednesday on a methamphetamine-related drug charge following a police search - the second such search there in two months.
John Williams has owned INNdulge Hotel, located on Grendfall Road in Warm Sands, for 10 years.
A City Council candidate, he said he was not aware his neighborhood is known as a place to party, have sex and do drugs.
However, Williams did host three meetings with Palm Springs police at his hotel in June, July and September because he "heard from other people there were problems."
He added that his hotel has a zero-tolerance drug policy and he has not had drug problems in the past.
However, I think he has got to be naive if he wasn't aware that Warm Sands is a place to party and have sex.

Inn Dulge has a very low key atmosphere and the owners work hard to maintain the place. Nevertheless, it's hard to believe that John isn't aware of what goes on elsewhere in the area. However, he IS running for office. Just a very minor example of what one needs to do to win elective office, even in PSP and even on that level.
Regardless, it is a shame that we aren't a little more careful here when we post damaging information like this. A lot of people get the two resorts confused because of the name similarity, but rest assured, the places are nothing alike.
That said, one use the search function on this forum and find plenty of useful information, with a run down of nearly every gay resort in the area.

Whew!
Well, that's a relief! I've booked InnDulge for the "Do" and the only crystal I want to deal with sits near the silver and china.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. :p

I Accessed the Article on the Arrest
Indeed, the bust was for an
Innexileemployee, NOT Inndulge (which doesn't seem to be that sort of place).
This is something that I wouldn't swear to but the name of the employee charged with the crime does seem familiar. It wouldn't surprise me if he was the one that I thought was rather drugged out when I went there about 2 years ago.
But I am not sure.
If he is the same person, I hope he is OK as he was quite nice, despite being extremely thin with glazed eyes.
On a personal level, I don't approve of the drug scene but I think what he did was pretty harmless. It's certainly not something that should ruin his life.
At any rate, I look forward to staying at Inndulge in the near future! :)

Thanks
Wangs has a great happy hour on Friday nights. Usually starts round 6ish. Eat at Wangs or any of the other great restaurants in the area and then head to Hunters. :)

Following are my favorite exclusively gay restaurants/bars in PSP
Look
139 East Andreas Road
Palm Springs, CA
Phone: (760) 778-3520
Large outdoor patio, younger crowd, good food, walking distance to gay district of Arenas and shopping on Palm Canyon.
Plum
241 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way
Palm Springs, CA 92262
(760)322-0200
Very popular Sunday brunch, older crowd than Look.
Blame It On Midnight
777 East Tahquitz Canyon Way
Palm Springs, CA
Phone: (760) 323-120
Large restaurant and bar, has been in PSP forever. In my opinion the food is just okay but it is very crowded. The food is much better than Rainbow Cactus which is also crowded but mostly with an older clientele.
Butterfield's Adobe at The Villa Resort
67670 Carey Rd.
Cathedral City, CA 92234
Phone: (760) 328-7211
Excellent brunch/lunch seven days a week. The best new exclusively gay restaurant in PSP in my opinion.
Sidewinders
67555 E. Palm Canyon, Above Upper Crust Pizza
Cathedral City, CA 92234
The bar I like best, since it has a friendly crowd and line dancing. I find the dancing cowboys interesting, even before I saw Brokeback Mountain.
