Alex Keeling, CPA
Accountant
Alex Keeling graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s in international business in 2016. He later completed a master of accountancy at Belmont University in 2023. Alex has worked in public accounting since 2022, specializing in individual, business, gift and not-for-profit tax. Alex joined us at NMS in the spring of 2024.
April Betarie
Administrative Assistant
April Betarie joined the NMS team in early 2019. She currently serves the firm at the Chardon office's front desk as administrative assistant. Her background includes human resources and various roles in the education, medical and dental fields.

Jon McClain
Accountant
Jon McClain began a new career as a staff accountant with NMS in June 2022. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2021 with a Bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Forensic Accounting from Franklin University. Jon also has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Ken Pfeifer has been the information technology manager at NMS since 2015. He studied management information systems at Florida State University and has been an IT professional for 12 years. Megan Fennell
Accountant
Megan Fennell graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Notre Dame College in 1997, and joined the NMS family close to its inception later that year. In her 22 years of experience with the firm, she has focused mainly on corporate, partnership and individual taxation.
Morgan Piecuch
Accountant
Morgan Piecuch joined NMS as a staff accountant in May of 2021. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting from Lake Erie College in 2021, and is working toward becoming a certified public accountant. Her background includes three years of banking experience at a credit union.

Noelle Muro joined the NMS team as a staff accountant in July of 2019. She graduated from Cleveland State in the summer of 2019 with a Bachelors in business administration. Noelle had two accounting internships during tax season prior to working at NMS.

Staff Accountant
Ryan Mersek started at NMS as an intern in March 2023, and later became a full-time staff accountant. He graduated Cum Laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Ryan is currently working towards becoming a certified public accountant.
Sandy Ward
Marketing Coordinator
Sandy Ward joined NMS in May 2017 to assist with marketing efforts, which included building a branded and active social media presence. She also serves as marketing coordinator for Geauga Park District.
Shawn Neece, CPA, CGMA
Accountant
Shawn Neece earned his Bachelor's of Business Administration in accounting from Cleveland State University, and his Master's of Science in accounting from Kent State University. He is a CPA in Ohio and Florida and adjunct professor of accounting at Lake Erie College. Tina Blakeslee, EA
Accountant
Tina Blakeslee joined NMS in August 2015 and has been working in public accounting for more than 20 years. She is a tax preparer, can assist clients with QuickBooks setup and cleanup, and offers tax planning strategies for small business and individual clients.
NMS is dedicated to the communities it serves, even restoring two historic buildings in Lake and Geauga counties: the Old Chardon Post Office in 2009 and Mentor’s Old Village Hall in 2017. Both are NMS offices today. We hope you'll come see them in person!
